Brown, Schulze, Jacobsen, and Peck, took off at 0601 hours to escort 1 Sunderland on an-air-sea rescue mission to the east Coast of SARDINIA. The formation rendezvoued with -Sunderland at SJDI"AHMED—— at 1,000 feet at 0605 hours. Route: to target, due North. The P~38s rendezvoued with the bombers at DJ2IDJA at 0945 hours at 4,000 feet. Route: to garget, 60 degrees. Weather: to target, 6/10s clouds at 15,000 feet with haze below. The B-26s were over the target at 10,000 feet; the P-3&2 at 12,000 feet at 1140 hours. Barbing; very accurate, hits being seen all over the target.
